Is It Worth It?

Imagine this:
You are driving you rather new car, a car with capabilities to go up to 200 kmph.
You are on the highway. It is rather empty - isn't it a good time test the car?
You step on the accelerator and watch as the needle moves past 160kmph.
Wow, the car really handles quite well.
All of a sudden, a car swerves in front of you.
You hit the brakes as hard as you can, but unfortunately you hit the car in front of you.

Situation 1:
You survive with a few cuts here and there.
But the passengers in the car in front of you is a family - the Mother and 2 children dies. The Father and another child lives.
How would you feel?

Situation 2:
You suffered multiple fractures. One of you legs was crushed and couldn't be saved - it had to be amputated.
The passengers of the car in front of you - they too had multiple fractures and had to stay in the hospital for a long, long time. One of the passenger was supposed to get married next week; another was supposed to go overseas for studies; another was an athlete who had big dreams.
A better situation since nobody died?

Situation 3:
You died.
You lay at the side of the road as other motorist did what Malaysians are famous for doing - they slowed down and watched you.
Eventually somebody used some newspaper to cover you up.
The police arrived and tried to contact your loved ones.
Imagine your family receiving a phone call about your death.
I doesn't matter what happened to the other passengers as you are already dead.

And to think that all this could have been avoided.
